I love magazine pages as a vehicle for my words, particularly when they’re surrounded by fabulous design. Some of my recent features have tackled orthorexia (can a quest for healthy food make us unhealthy?), the science of beer brewing, and the rise of the Fort Collins food truck scene. On the business side, I wrote about the quick ascent of Colorado-based Noosa Yoghurt, and what it’s like to become a cicerone—beer’s sommelier. My personal essay topics have included the unlikely draw of 5:15 AM workouts and the challenges of feeding healthy food to kids (it’ll make you laugh). I write a darn good profile. Two of my favorite subjects include Lauren Myracle, one of the most talked-about (and censored) YA authors today, and how the Honorable Jacalyn Colburn changed the way we rehabilitate criminals in New Hampshire.
[Please excuse the current layout. My expertise is in words, not design—I’m currently fighting mightily with WordPress!]
